Ukrainian Forces Strikes Russian Missile Carrier in the Sea of Azov During Night Operations

On the night of August 28, Ukrainian units from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense successfully carried out an operation targeting a Russian missile ship of the ‘Buyan-M’ project in the Sea of Azov.
This vessel is considered a potential carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, which Russian forces use to launch strikes against Ukrainian territory.
Through a joint effort by the Special Operations Department of the GUR and the ‘Primary’ unit, a precise attack was launched in the vicinity of the temporarily occupied Crimea, near Ukrainian waters.
As a result of the strike, the ship sustained significant damage, including damage to its radar systems, forcing it to leave its patrol area in Temryuk Bay and return to a safer zone for repairs.
The operation took place in the same area where active Russian military maneuvers had been observed earlier, indicating potential missile launch activity.
This successful strike highlights Ukraine’s intelligence capabilities and its ability to neutralize threats in maritime regions, underscoring Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to prevent Russian missile attacks.
