Russian Forces Deliberately Attack Intercity+ Train Parks: Massive Fire and Damage to Rolling Stock

In the night of August 28, the armed forces of Russia carried out a deliberate offensive against Ukrainian railway infrastructure, targeting the Intercity+ high-speed train fleet among other facilities across the country.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the attack resulted in a large-scale fire that engulfed multiple carriages and caused significant damage to the rolling stock, leading to major disruptions in rail schedules.
The company’s leadership emphasized that railway workers acted swiftly and in accordance with safety protocols, managing to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of staff who were sheltering underground during the attack.
Among the damages, one of the high-speed trains was heavily affected and requires extensive repairs.
Despite these setbacks, Ukrzaliznytsia assures passengers and personnel remained unharmed.
The company is making every effort to minimize the impact of the attack by deploying additional trains, replacing damaged rolling stock, and restoring damaged infrastructure.
Some international routes from Kozyatyn continue to operate on altered routes due to infrastructure damages.
