Russian Attacks Damage EU Mission in Kyiv: Foreign Minister Condemns Serious Breach of International Norms

On the night of August 28, Kyiv once again faced massive strikes from Russia, one of which damaged the European Union’s representation building.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that this missile attack not only caused damage to the diplomatic mission but also represented a blatant violation of the Vienna Convention and international law.
The minister emphasized that during the targeted attack, Russia also aimed at diplomats, which constitutes a direct breach of international commitments and exacerbates the ongoing conflict.
He added that such blatant disrespect toward diplomatic missions provokes deep concern and calls for strict international condemnation.According to the Ukrainian government, at least 8 people were killed, including a child, as a result of the strike.
Despite international calls for cessation of hostilities, Moscow continues to use heavy weaponry to destroy civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian diplomat stressed that these actions negate any possibility of diplomacy or peace efforts, and require a decisive international response.Following another massive attack on Kyiv, President Zelensky expressed hopes that neighboring countries, particularly Hungary and Poland, will respond appropriately.
Poland has already announced that it has activated all necessary procedures to defend its airspace.
Discussions are ongoing regarding further measures, but the international community remains tense regarding the potential escalation of the conflict.
