In the early morning hours of Thursday, Kyiv faced a devastating multi-faceted attack by Russian military forces, resulting in tragic losses and widespread destruction.

The death toll has now risen to 12 civilians, including three children aged 2, 14, and 17.

Kyiv’s Mayor, Тимур Ткаченко, announced via his official Telegram channel that among the victims were two minors, highlighting the brutal impact of the missile strikes.

Over 30 residents have been injured with varying degrees of severity.

The assault caused significant damage in the Darnytskyi District, where a five-story residential building was partially destroyed.

Rescue teams are currently conducting search and rescue operations at the site.

A resident who spoke to NV indicated that about 20 people had been hiding in the building’s basement during the attack, all of whom survived.

Other districts such as Obolonskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomian, Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Desnianskyi have also suffered damage.

Rail services through Kozyatyn were temporarily halted but later resumed, albeit with notable delays.

Overnight, Russia launched over 32 missiles and nearly 600 attack drones across Ukraine.

The European Union mission building in Kyiv was also damaged in the attack.

This night’s missile strikes serve as a stark reminder of ongoing aggression and the persistent threats facing Ukraine.

The Ukrainian authorities and citizens are calling for unity and strengthened defenses to prevent further tragedies and work towards restoring peace and stability within the country.
