Hungary bans entry for Ukrainian UAV commander over attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline

Hungary has officially announced a ban on the entry of Roberta “Madjar” Bovati, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drone units, in response to a recent incident involving an attack on the strategic international asset — the Druzhba oil pipeline.
On Thursday, August 28, Foreign Minister and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó made this statement via his Facebook page.
According to the Hungarian diplomat, this attack represented a severe breach of Hungary’s sovereignty and caused significant disruptions — repair work took considerable time, and strategic reserves were nearly depleted.
He emphasized that such actions are unacceptable and constitute a direct violation of national sovereignty.
“This decision includes a ban on the entry of the Ukrainian military commander responsible for the attack, as well as all members of his team — representing the Ukrainian armed forces.
Specifically, Roberta Bovati, who has Hungarian origins and hails from Zakarpattia, is affected.
The Hungarian minister stressed that this ban applies not only to Hungary but to the entire Schengen Area, and that “Madjar” will be unable to obtain an entry permit to Europe for at least the coming years.
This decision serves as a signal to Ukrainian military personnel and regional stakeholders that any attack on critical transportation infrastructure, especially of such strategic importance as the Druzhba pipeline, will have serious and long-term consequences for those responsible.
