The German Foreign Minister, Johann Wadefuhl, has openly reiterated his government’s firm stance regarding Russia’s aggressive actions in Ukraine, notably in Kyiv.

He emphasized that any attacks on the Ukrainian capital, whether targeting residential areas, infrastructure, or diplomatic missions, will not be left without an adequate response.

His statements highlighted recent nights of severe bombings and missile strikes that have endangered civilians and caused significant destruction in Kyiv.

Of particular concern was the attack on EU diplomatic facilities, which again demonstrated blatant disregard for international law.

Wadefuhl stressed that the European Union and Germany are ready to respond decisively, including considering additional sanctions in the near future.

He also noted that European countries are closely monitoring the situation and preparing coordinated diplomatic actions.

The Minister underscored Germany’s commitment to peace and acknowledged efforts by the United States in seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to fully grasp the seriousness of Western resolve.

Looking ahead, Wadefuhl disclosed that Germany is seriously contemplating imposing further sanctions on Russia, and assured that any measures will be taken in collaboration with the EU.

His remarks reaffirm Germany’s unwavering support for Ukraine and the need for global unity against Russian aggression.

The statement comes amid massive missile and drone attacks across Kyiv and other regions, resulting in numerous casualties and widespread damage to homes and infrastructure.

The toll includes dozens of injured and several fatalities, including children and civilians, illustrating the brutality and recklessness of Russian actions.
