Russian Forces Attempt to Consolidate Presence in Two Dnipropetrovsk Villages: Ukrainian Defenders’ Progress and Setbacks

The situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region remains tense, as Russian military units actively seek to assert control over two small settlements — Novogeorgievka and Zaporizke.

Reports from Ukrainian armed forces reveal that, recently, two separate infantry groups of the enemy, numbering 8 and 15 soldiers respectively, unsuccessfully attempted to enter and fortify these villages.

Representatives of the joint operational-strategic group of troops ‘Dnipro’, particularly their spokesperson Viktor Tregubov, indicated that hostilities are ongoing.

According to him, the Russians achieved their goal but failed to secure a foothold despite persistent efforts.

Tregubov emphasized that it was only recently that the enemy dared to move beyond the outskirts and directly onto the territory of these settlements, creating additional challenges for Ukrainian forces.

The primary concern for the Ukrainian Armed Forces remains the impressive number of Russian personnel amassed and sent in small groups for assaults.

The military spokesperson noted that Russian soldiers try to identify gaps within Ukrainian defensive positions, aiming not necessarily to seize entire strategic points but to pass by them and regroup behind them once past.

Recent reports mention successful Ukrainian operations that liberated several villages from Russian occupation, notably Zelenyi Hai near Dnipropetrovsk and a significant part of Tovste village.

These actions dealt a serious blow to the enemy and demonstrated the resilience and effectiveness of Ukrainian defenders amid ongoing combat.

Currently, the operational situation remains controlled by Ukrainian forces, but the threat of the enemy establishing a stronger foothold in these areas persists, reaffirming the importance of Ukraine’s strategic resilience and swift military response.
