On Wednesday, August 27, the city of Chernihiv once again became the target of aggressive attacks carried out by Russian drones known as ‘Shahed’.

Reports from local authorities and eyewitnesses indicate that several explosions occurred throughout the day, resulting in destruction and fires at local facilities.

The primary targets were private enterprises, where a large fire broke out, quickly spreading across the area.

According to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, two women suffered injuries as a result of the strike; one was hospitalized, while the other refused medical assistance and stayed at home.

Additionally, windows and facades of residential buildings were damaged, increasing fears and concerns among residents.

During this time, further explosions were recorded in the suburbs and outskirts of the city, suggesting that one or more kamikaze drones once again hit targets, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and alarm.

The consequences of this attack are particularly visible in the infrastructure — broken windows and damaged city facilities.

It is worth noting that Chernihiv region has repeatedly been subjected to such attacks, and on the night of August 27, over 50 settlements remained without power due to damage to electrical grids.

Besides Chernihiv, targets of Russian drones included gas transportation and energy infrastructure in several regions — Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Poltava regions.

Overall, these attacks demonstrate an increase in the enemy’s tactical and strategic activity in northern and eastern Ukraine, causing significant destruction, human casualties, and presenting new challenges to the country’s security and defense.
