According to analytical reports from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Kremlin is demonstrating clear resistance to any initiatives proposed by the United States and European Union aimed at ensuring Ukraine’s security.

The report highlights that US and European governments have already expressed willingness to provide additional resources to bolster Ukraine’s security, including potential deployment of European peacekeeping forces.

However, sources indicate that Russia is determined to categorically reject any presence of NATO troops on Ukrainian territory, considering their participation as a threat to its interests.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently stated that Western countries should not bear responsibility for Ukraine’s security after hostilities end.

Moreover, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova emphasized that Russia sharply rejects any scenarios involving the deployment of NATO military contingents in Ukraine.

The report suggests that Moscow is unlikely to accept the US and European security guarantees as discussed by their officials.

Meanwhile, European diplomatic circles are considering options such as sending British and French forces to Ukraine as part of a future peace agreement, with about ten countries already willing to contribute troops.

US special envoy Kit Kelleogg acknowledged that diplomatic efforts to secure robust security guarantees for Ukraine remain very complex and ongoing.
