Official statements from the Kremlin emphasize their reluctance to publicly address questions concerning security guarantees for Ukraine and potential concessions from Russia.

Representatives of the Russian leadership highlight that these issues are extremely sensitive and require careful handling in closed-door negotiations.

During a recent briefing, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stressed that discussing such topics in public forums could undermine diplomatic efforts and is unlikely to yield positive outcomes.

He added that work on achieving agreements regarding security guarantees should continue in confidential settings, as only through such channels can success be realistically hoped for.Regarding the placement of foreign troops in Ukraine, the Kremlin spokesman reaffirmed Russia’s negative stance toward the potential presence of European military forces in the country.

According to him, it is important to distinguish between military structures of NATO member states and individual national armies, emphasizing that NATO is a military alliance, not a collection of European armies. The topic of negotiations remains open.

Peskov noted that the Russian and Ukrainian negotiating teams are in contact, but no new dates for the next round of talks have been scheduled.

Meanwhile, contacts between Russia and the United States continue through various channels, indicating the importance of diplomatic engagement in opening a new phase of efforts.
