In Ukraine, Blueberry Prices Surge Due to Reduced Supply and Strong Demand

The Ukrainian berry market is experiencing a significant shift as blueberry prices have begun to rise sharply this week, driven by limited supply and heightened consumer demand.

According to analysts from the EastFruit project, this price increase is a direct response to the end of the early and mid-season harvests of various blueberry varieties.

By the end of August, retail prices ranged between 170 and 240 hryvnias per kilogram, representing approximately a 14% increase from the previous week.

Notably, compared to the same period last year, blueberry prices in Ukraine have surged by over 50%, now standing at a 53% higher level.

Farmers and orchard owners dealing with late-harvest blueberries have capitalized on this situation by again elevating their prices, responding to the intensified demand.

Industry experts predict that blueberry prices are likely to continue rising, as consumer activity remains high amid a limited supply.

This situation is set against a background where prices for other agricultural products, such as apples, have decreased recently.

Overall, the current market dynamics imply that blueberry prices in Ukraine might keep climbing, potentially affecting consumer purchasing power in the near future.
