Germany Records Historic Arms Exports in 2024: Ukraine as the Biggest Recipient
In 2024, Germany achieved unprecedented levels in military exports, driven largely by its active support to Ukraine and other allied nations.
According to reports published by ‘European Truth’ citing the reputable German news channel Tagesschau, the total volume of arms exported reached a record 12.83 billion euros.
Ukraine emerged as the top recipient, receiving weapons worth 8.15 billion euros, which accounts for over 64% of all authorized exports.
The shipment included 306 combat armored vehicles, over 300 missiles and missile systems, 78 tanks, and 11 large-caliber artillery systems.
Additional significant orders came from Singapore, indicating an increase in international military cooperation.
Analysts note that, given the current geopolitical climate and assessments by Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND), Russia perceives itself in a systemic conflict with the West and is preparing for a potential large-scale war with NATO.
The Bundestag has even warned about the possibility of Russia attacking NATO within the next 2-3 years, highlighting the rising military tensions and strategic threats in the region.
