Do Russian forces have the capacity for a large-scale crossing of the Dnipro near Kherson?

According to Ukrainian military experts, the Russian occupation forces currently lack sufficient resources and capabilities to mount a large-scale offensive across the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
Ukrainian Volunteer Army spokesperson Serhiy Bratchuk emphasized in a Kyiv-based media interview that the situation at the Dnipro’s delta remains unfavorable for the enemy.
He noted that for several months, Russian troops have been attempting to consolidate positions on certain sections of the Dnipro Islands and are conducting preparatory work to launch a broader offensive, but have yet to succeed.
Bratchuk explained that the enemy does not possess enough forces, equipment, or naval assets to carry out a massive breakthrough, as such an operation demands significant resources — including assault units, logistical support, and vessels.
He expressed confidence that Russia currently does not have and unlikely will acquire these resources in the near future.
Ukrainian military officials also highlight that Russian troops are trying to strengthen their presence on the Dnipro islands, but are facing difficulties.
Recent airstrikes on the Island Bridge, which connects the regional center to the Korable neighborhood, have damaged critical infrastructure, complicating logistical support and the defense of southern Kherson.
Experts warn that damage to this strategic bridge threatens the further control of the area, prompting the Ukrainian army to continue reinforcing its defenses and work towards restoring vital infrastructure in the region.
