Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an official statement about planned contacts with a range of international partners who could serve as platforms for negotiations with Russia to resolve the ongoing conflict.

According to him, meetings will take place this week with representatives from Turkey, European countries, and other states that can act as mediators in diplomatic dialogues.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is fully committed to seeking a compromise, is open to dialogue, and receptive to constructive proposals.

He also highlighted that the outcome largely depends on the will of global leaders, particularly the United States, which should demonstrate support and exert pressure on Russia to achieve peace.

Analyzing the situation, the politician noted the necessity of new steps and measures: expanding sanctions, applying economic pressure such as tariffs and trade restrictions.

These tools are intended to motivate the Russian leadership to pursue honest and fair peace negotiations.

This process was preceded by a statement from former U.S.

President Donald Trump in August, who said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin does not want to meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky because he does not like him.

Trump added that he personally believes that any potential encounters between Ukrainian and Russian leaders are unlikely due to political tensions and each side’s desire for dominance on the international stage.
