Ukrainian General Staff Denies Occupation of Zaporizhke and Novogeorgievka in Dnipropetrovsk Region
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff has officially refuted recent reports claiming the occupation of two strategically vital settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region — Zaporizhke and Novogeorgievka.
According to the military command, Ukrainian troops are engaged in combat operations in these areas, yet they have not lost control over them, and these settlements remain under Ukrainian protection and authority.
The General Staff emphasizes: “Regarding the situation along the border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, Ukrainian defense forces managed to halt the advance of Russian invaders and continue to maintain control over strategic positions.
Active hostilities are ongoing in the Zaporizhke area, where our soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the enemy and destroying dozens of their units daily.
It is also known that in the Novogeorgievka district, Ukrainian servicemen keep eliminating Russian combat groups, with dozens of enemy casualties reported.
Importantly, claims of Russian occupation of these settlements are false and constitute disinformation.” It is worth noting that on August 26, the analytical project DeepState initially reported that Russian forces had allegedly occupied these villages, a statement Ukrainian authorities now deny, reaffirming that the situation remains under control and is closely monitored by Ukrainian defense forces.
