Amid escalating hostilities in the Donetsk region, a critical emergency has emerged at local coal mines.

Due to targeted Russian artillery fire and missile strikes, several mining facilities have lost power, trapping 148 miners underground in dangerous conditions.

This alarming situation was disclosed by Member of Parliament and head of the Confederation of Free Unions of Ukraine, MykhailoVolynets.

According to him, the cause of the crisis is a massive Russian attack that resulted in the shutdown of electricity supplies on mines within the Dobropillia community.

Further details about the condition of the miners and potential rescue operations remain unavailable at this time.

Emergency services are working intensively, but active enemy fire complicates their efforts.

Experts warn that without external assistance, the plight of the miners could worsen, posing a significant human and safety crisis in the conflict zone.
