On August 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky resumed active diplomatic engagements by meeting with U.S.

Special Envoy Keith Kellogg as part of new diplomatic initiatives.

Details of this significant encounter were shared by sources, including ‘European Pravda’, citing Zelensky’s personal statements.

According to him, this visit was a logical continuation of Ukraine’s efforts supported by European partners in Washington to consolidate positions regarding Russia’s aggression.

Zelensky emphasized that during the talks, discussions covered not only security guarantees but also intensified efforts to pressure the Kremlin through sanctions and economic measures to force Russia to sit at the negotiation table and end the war.

An important aspect was the discussion of military cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S.

— with two main possibilities: potential arms purchase agreements and drone supply arrangements, which could significantly enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

Zelensky noted that his team is actively working on implementing these projects, especially under the PURL program, aimed at acquiring American equipment with the support of partner countries.

After the meeting, Kellogg confirmed that diplomacy is ongoing on security guarantees for Ukraine, acknowledging the complexity and long-term nature of these negotiations.

Furthermore, Ukrainian and American delegations are scheduled to meet later this week to discuss possible future talks with Russia.

These efforts demonstrate Ukraine’s focused approach to strengthening its security position and reinforcing its defense capacity amid ongoing hostilities.
