Unveiling New Details of Ukrainian High-Tech Missiles: ‘Long Neptune’ and ‘Flamingo’

For the first time online, detailed footage of Ukrainian missile technology has appeared, including a mysterious model known as ‘Long Neptune,’ which, according to preliminary data, is an extended version of the well-known P-360 ‘Neptune’ anti-ship missile.
On August 24, 2025, Ukraine’s official ‘Weapon’ portal shared a video showcasing various modern armaments of the country in the Independence Day celebrations.
The footage clearly displays a new missile that appears to be a continuation of Ukraine’s advanced missile systems lineup.
This is the first public demonstration of the ‘Long Neptune,’ with development details emerging as early as November 2023.
Reports suggest that this missile possesses capabilities to hit targets at distances over 1000 kilometers, positioning it as one of Ukraine’s most strategic long-range weapons.
There are questions about its propulsion system, considering that tests for the ‘Long Neptune’ were conducted as early as 2018-2020 with coastal missile complexes.
The shared videos are old, reused for the public release.
Notably, official specifications remain undisclosed, though earlier statements indicated a range of 1000 km.
Comparing ‘Long Neptune’ with its predecessor, similarities include the tail section housing the engine and certain structural features.
Based on the design, the missile’s length exceeds 6 meters, making it over 1.5 meters longer than the ‘Neptune’ anti-ship missile.
The increase in central fuselage diameter from 38 to 50 cm likely serves to accommodate a larger fuel tank, thus extending operational range.
Technical details on weight are not publicly available, but it’s believed that the warhead might weigh several hundred kilograms.
Additionally, increased wing and tail surface areas suggest modifications to compensate for weight gains.
Ukraine also confirmed the production of the long-range missile ‘Flamingo,’ capable of striking targets over 3000 km away with a warhead exceeding 1150 kilograms.
This development significantly broadens Ukraine’s operational capabilities, allowing strikes deep into enemy territory, including high-value and strategic targets.
Authorities have announced plans for mass production, which could dramatically alter the front-line situation and bolster Ukraine’s defense.
Exclusive videos of training and combat launches of these new missile systems are available in open sources, confirming their advanced development status and readiness for deployment.
