A heartbreaking incident has taken place in the Rivne region of Ukraine, highlighting critical issues related to healthcare and communication during military mobilization.

On August 21, in the village of Horodets, military personnel conducted a routine military medical examination on Vitaliy Sakharuk, born in 1991, prior to his deployment to a military training center.

During the procedure, the man suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness.

Emergency medical services were called in, but despite prompt response, Vitaliy was pronounced dead.

An initial investigation found that his death was caused by heart failure.

It is also noteworthy that Vitaliy had previously been flagged as a military delinquent for failing to appear for service in January 2025, which led to his detention for examination.

His mother, Nila Sakharuk, shared on Facebook that the family was not notified of his death.

They only found out late on August 24 through social media and police reports that he had passed away and was in the morgue.

She explained that her son was taken from the Sarny regional military recruitment office on August 21 and detained there for three days.

Only on August 23 did they discover his body.

The mother expressed her outrage over the lack of communication from authorities.

Meanwhile, this tragic event occurs amid another similar incident in Cмила, Cherkasy region, where a mobilized soldier died after reportedly jumping out of a vehicle during transport to a training center, allegedly on his own accord.

These incidents shed light on the urgent need to improve healthcare support and transparency in the mobilization process, emphasizing the importance of better communication channels with service members and their families.
