Russia Launches Major Drone Attack on Ukraine: Over 75 Drones Intercepted, Damage and Casualties Reported
On the evening of August 24, a significant drone assault was carried out targeting Ukrainian territory.
Official reports indicate that Ukrainian air defense systems detected and neutralized 76 out of 104 hostile drones of the Shahed type and various decoys launched by Russian forces.
This persistent aggression demonstrates Russia’s ongoing efforts to undermine Ukraine’s security and sow instability in the region.The Russian military launched drones from several locations, including Shatalovo, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
During the attack, Ukraine’s aviation, anti-aircraft defenses, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems fought to prevent further damage.
As a result, 28 drones struck 15 different sites, with debris from the downed drones recorded at four locations, revealing the scale of the attack and some resulting damage.The invaders continue utilizing decoy drones and imitations to confuse Ukrainian defenses and create additional threats on the frontlines.
This indicates a tactical shift and a search for new methods of conducting military operations to sustain their aggression against Ukraine.
