Massive Drone Attack on Sumy Triggers Fires and Heightened Alarm Among Local Residents

On the night of August 25, Russian occupying forces launched a large-scale drone assault on Ukraine’s Sumy region.
According to Oleksiy Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the attack lasted nearly a full day, causing extensive damage and igniting fires in multiple districts.
Hryhorov reports that the enemy deliberately targeted areas within the Sumy and Romen communities, leading to several fires at the impact sites.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported thus far, but emergency services are working tirelessly to assess and mitigate the damages.
Preliminary data indicate at least ten hits within the Sumy community alone, illustrating the large scale and severity of the attack.
Local reporters describe widespread anxiety among residents and an increase in emergency calls.
This latest assault underscores the ongoing brutality of Russia’s war against Ukraine and presents a serious challenge to the country’s defenses and local authorities.
