Incident in Dnipro: Man Opens Fire During Document Check, Police and Military Investigate Circumstances

A tense situation unfolded in Dnipro when a man, during a routine military document check, suddenly drew a firearm into the air and attempted to flee.

Footage circulating on social media captured the moment when, near a school, an unidentified individual, despite efforts by military personnel to verify his military registration documents, responded with aggression.

On August 24, 2025, military alert units, along with police officers, stopped the man on Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky Street for a document check.According to legislation, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 are obliged to carry military registration certificates.

However, the man refused to produce these documents and began behaving aggressively, attacking military officers and provoking a conflict.

To de-escalate the situation and prevent illegal actions, one of the soldiers fired a warning shot into the air.

Witnesses report hearing the shot and seeing the individual quickly leave the scene.Fortunately, no injuries or damages occurred among civilians, military personnel, or law enforcement officers.
