Zelensky honors American envoy: Kit Kellogg receives the Order of Merit, First Class
In yet another demonstration of the close and productive relations between Ukraine and the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took a symbolic step by awarding U.S.
special envoy Kit Kellogg with the Order of Merit, First Class.
This honor underscores the recognition of Kellogg’s significant contributions to supporting the Ukrainian people and strengthening bilateral ties.
Details of the ceremony were announced during celebrations dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day.
Notably, in addition to Kellogg, the prestigious award was also conferred upon Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist.
On the same day, Kyiv welcomed distinguished guests—including Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and U.S.
Special Envoy Kellogg—who traveled to support Ukrainian sovereignty and bolster strategic cooperation.
It is known that Zelensky previously met with Kellogg during his visit to Washington, indicating a high level of diplomatic engagement.
However, the U.S.
did not include Kellogg in the delegation for the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, citing Russia’s controversial position regarding the event.
