Zelensky awards U.S. Senators and Congressmen for supporting Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a significant ceremony to honor leading American politicians for their active support of Ukraine and their contribution to defending national interests.
Notably, he awarded the Order of Yaroslav the Wise, 1st class, to Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal — two key initiators of recent sanctions legislation in the U.S.
Congress.
These legislative initiatives envisage imposing extensive tariffs and restrictions on countries engaging in trade with Russia, which plays a crucial role in backing Ukraine’s stance on the international stage.
It is worth noting that this sanctions bill currently faces delays due to political and procedural issues.
Furthermore, Zelensky awarded the Order of Merit, 2nd class, to American Congressman Grace Lee Charlene.
Other prominent U.S.
politicians, including Congresswomen Marcy Kaptur, Congressman Michael Quigley, Michael McCaul, and Patrick Brian Kevin, were also recognized.
In addition, Ukrainian President awarded the Ivan Mazepa Cross to Congressman Joe Wilson for his active support of Ukraine’s fight against aggression.
Earlier, on August 24, Zelensky awarded the U.S.
Special Envoy Kiet Kellogg the Order of Merit, 1st class, and conferred the military rank of Lieutenant General to Commander-in-Chief Andriy Hnatov, highlighting the high level of bilateral cooperation and strategic support in combating Russian aggression.
