On the eve of Ukraine’s National Flag Day, Ukrainian servicemen took a significant symbolic step by raising blue-yellow flags on the temporarily occupied Ukrainian lands in the Kherson region.

Operators of the 40th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces actively placed these flags in key settlements such as Holaya Prystan, Nova Zburivka, and other towns and villages across the region.

The act was not only a display of patriotic symbols but also a reminder to residents of the temporarily occupied territories that Ukraine remains their homeland and that the blue-yellow banners symbolize the unwavering unity and identity of the Ukrainian people.

This gesture was carried out just ahead of a day when the country commemorates its 34th Independence anniversary, with greetings from top officials, including the President of Ukraine and international allies.

Notably, the President of the United States and other world leaders extended their congratulations, emphasizing the indomitable spirit and courage of the Ukrainian nation, which continues to fight for its freedom despite the hardships.

The action served as a vivid demonstration that, regardless of temporary occupation, these lands are an integral part of Ukraine, and patriotism and national unity are the strongest forces in the ongoing struggle for independence.
