Ukrainian Forces Regain Control of Novomykhailivka: A Significant Victory in Donetsk Region

As part of a large-scale operation, Ukrainian military units, including intelligence officers from the Main Intelligence Directorate and fighters from the Third Assault Brigade, successfully broke through and regained control over the strategically important settlement of Novomykhailivka, located in the Donetsk region.
This achievement was made possible through coordinated actions and the combined efforts of several defense units, demonstrating tactical skill and bravery.
According to the press service of the GUR MO Ukraine, the operation was conducted by the department of active actions, notably the Artan unit, along with the 2nd assault battalion of the Third Assault Brigade.
The Ukrainian armed forces managed to oust the occupying forces from the settlement and establish new positions.
Intercepted data suggests that the attack caught Russian forces by surprise, resulting in significant losses—approximately a battalion’s worth of personnel.
The enemy was forced to redeploy reserves from other sectors to hold the front line.
The GUR emphasizes that thanks to coordinated intelligence, heavy equipment, and UAV strikes, Ukrainian forces improved their tactical position and strengthened the defensive line in this sector.
Today, Novomykhailivka is fully liberated and under Ukrainian control.
Previously, the GUR reported on the successful operation by the “Brotherhood” unit along with the RDK, which halted the Russian advance in Donetsk, eliminating over 90 occupiers and capturing five prisoners.
This demonstrates ongoing improvements in Ukraine’s defensive capabilities and rapid tactical response to enemy threats.
