Ukraine bestows state honors on distinguished foreign guests during Independence Day celebrations
During the solemn events dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day, a significant ceremony took place honoring foreign diplomats and partner country representatives.
President Volodymyr Zelensky personally awarded distinguished foreign guests in recognition of their contributions to strengthening cooperation and supporting Ukraine.
Notably, President Zelensky awarded the U.S.
Special Envoy Keith Kelleogg the Order of Merit of the first degree, symbolizing the strong diplomatic ties between the United States and Ukraine.
Simultaneously, another honored guest, Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist, received the same award for his active support of Ukrainian reforms and the defense sector.
The ceremony was held at Sofia Square in Kyiv and gathered numerous diplomats, politicians, and civic leaders who expressed solidarity with Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty.
