Ukraine and Canada Sign Landmark Agreement on Joint Defense Production to Strengthen Security During Wartime
Within the framework of a significant diplomatic initiative aimed at deepening military cooperation and providing Ukraine with modern defense technologies, Ukraine and Canada have signed a historic document to launch joint production of military equipment.
This marks a pivotal step in enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities and fortifying strategic partnership relations between the two nations.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that drone manufacturing will be established simultaneously on both Canadian and Ukrainian territories, enabling faster deployment of these assets to Ukrainian forces.
The initial stages of this initiative are already underway, promising a crucial modernization of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
During a joint press conference, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that one of the main priorities in this collaboration is the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, which are vital for Ukraine’s frontline security.
Furthermore, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal highlighted that the signing took place in the presence of senior officials from both countries and will foster not only economic growth within Ukrainian defense industries but also facilitate technological exchange and long-term support for Ukrainian military forces amidst ongoing conflict with Russia.
