In official statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it is claimed that over the past few hours, their air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed more than 50 unmanned aerial vehicles, which Russia alleges originated from Ukraine.

According to Russian military officials, this large-scale operation took place in multiple regions of the country, including Moscow Oblast, Bryansk, Kaluga, Smolensk, Kursk, Leningrad, Tver, Novgorod, Orel regions, as well as in the Black Sea maritime area and the Chuvash Republic.

The operational report indicates that between 5:00 PM and 11:30 PM Moscow time, their air defense managed to eliminate these targets.

This follow-up action comes after earlier drone attacks in Saint Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, and Moscow, which occurred during Saturday day and evening, leading to restrictions on air traffic in several major airports.

The attempt to breach Russian airspace persists, and the Defense Ministry asserts that they are taking all necessary measures to protect the country and its citizens from these aerial threats.
