In challenging times, as Russian aggression continues in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories for over a year, residents of these cities refuse to remain indifferent to national celebrations.

The “Yellow Ribbon” project, dedicated to supporting Ukrainian communities in conflict zones and temporary occupations, published a series of photos showing Ukrainians from various regions currently under enemy control.

Despite the pressure and dangers faced daily, these individuals sincerely wish Ukraine a happy Independence Day.

Among the cities depicted are Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta, Yevpatoriya, Bakhchysarai, Saki, Donetsk, Mariupol, Zhdanivka, Luhansk, Alchevsk, Vovchlansk, Dovzhansk, Lutugine, as well as Melitopol, Enerhodar, Berdiansk, Skadovsk, Henichesk, and Nova Kakhovka.

All of them, despite the occupation, express support for Ukraine and extend their greetings on this significant national holiday.

Activists from the “Yellow Ribbon” movement emphasize their belief in the resilience of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, which fight tirelessly for freedom and independence, and highlight that many occupied cities are eagerly awaiting Ukraine’s return to normal life.

They are confident that victory is inevitable because they believe in the strength of their spirit and the support of the entire Ukrainian nation.

Ukraine, despite difficult circumstances, remains convinced that it can achieve peace across its entire territory and reclaim every inch of its land.

Independence is not just a national holiday but a symbol of the ongoing struggle, faith, and unbreakable will of the Ukrainian people.

The journey toward victory involves a long road and a relentless pursuit of freedom, and this is the key message conveyed in discussions about this pivotal date.
