In Dnipropetrovsk Region, Police Neutralize Armed Attacker Following Series of Violent Acts and Assault on Rescuers and Family Members
A troubling incident unfolded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, specifically in the Kryvyi Rih district, capturing public attention and prompting investigations.
According to police reports, a local resident armed with a knife committed a series of violent acts, injuring five individuals, including two rescuers from the State Emergency Service, and then sparked a fire by setting hay ablaze.
Authorities confirmed that the arson and subsequent spreading flames posed serious threats to nearby residents.
When firefighters and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, the suspect continued his aggressive behavior, attacking them with a knife.
This necessitated the use of firearms by the police.
As a precaution and in accordance with standard procedures, officers issued warning shots into the air, but when the threat persisted, they were forced to use lethal force.
The attacker’s injuries proved fatal, and he died at the scene.
Currently, psychological and criminal investigations are underway to establish all circumstances surrounding the event.
The authorities have also informed the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
The incident resulted in injuries to five individuals, including two emergency workers, but overall, the situation remains under control.
