Britain Affirms Long-Term Support for Ukraine: Training Programs and Security Guarantees Extended to 2026

The United Kingdom continues to demonstrate active support for Ukraine by committing to complete and expand its military training programs for Ukrainian soldiers through 2026.
British Defense officials have stated that the country intends to maintain this course, providing training under the Interflex program, which focuses on both combat skills and leadership development.
This initiative plays a crucial role in bolstering Ukraine’s armed forces ahead of potential broader cooperation with Western allies.
Concurrently, London is working on establishing a multinational coalition led by France and Britain to deploy forces in Ukraine for deterrence, especially following a peace agreement.
The security guarantees for Ukraine will consist of two components: the first involves further strengthening of the Ukrainian military through training and deployment of forces capable of operating away from the frontline; the second includes creating an American-backed system to facilitate intelligence sharing, arms supplies, and possibly air defense systems, thereby enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
More than 50,000 Ukrainian soldiers have already undergone training in the UK under the Interflex program.
British Defense Minister Ben Wallace emphasized that the goal is for Ukraine not only to defend itself today but also to deter future aggression.
He highlighted the importance of building a robust defensive posture to support Ukrainian forces during this critical period.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia mentioned that the initial security guarantee document for Ukraine could be ready as early as next week, opening new avenues for diplomatic resolution.
