On the patriotic occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky conferred numerous high state awards to distinguished American politicians who have actively contributed to strengthening Ukrainian-American relations and supporting Ukraine in its ongoing struggle against Russian aggression.

The ceremony was publicly announced through an official Ukrainian government website, where the corresponding decree was published.

Among the awardees are Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal, renowned for their consistent support of Ukraine and their initiatives within Congress to implement sanctions aimed at countries engaging in trade with Russia.

These legislative proposals envisage imposing substantial tariffs against such nations.

Although the enforcement of these sanctions was temporarily halted following Donald Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, efforts to reinstate them are now ongoing.

Additionally, U.S.

Special Envoy Keith Kellogg was awarded the Order of meritorious service 1st class for his significant contribution to aid Ukraine.

Other American politicians, including Senator Grassley Charles Ernest, Congresswoman Marcy Kaprur, and Congressman Quigley Michael Bruce, were also decorated.

Furthermore, in recognition of their efforts to promote Ukraine’s independence and support, Congressman Joe Wilson received the Ukrainian order “Cross of Ivan Mazepa.” Ukrainian awards were also conferred upon international partners, allies, and supporters who tirelessly strive for peace in Ukraine, including efforts to return prisoners and abducted children from Russia.

These official ceremonies marked a significant step in honoring those who have contributed to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst ongoing conflict.
