Russia Launches Major Drone Attack: 49 UAVs Targeted, 36 Destroyed by Ukrainian Air Forces
On the night of August 22 to 23, Russian forces carried out a large-scale drone attack, with a total of 49 hostile unmanned aerial vehicles detected.
Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down or suppress 36 of these drones.
According to Ukrainian military sources, the attack resulted in strikes at seven different locations, including in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions.
Specifically, there were 13 direct hits on targets, highlighting the high intensity and precision of the enemy’s operation.
This incident underscores Russia’s increasing reliance on UAVs for reconnaissance and targeted strikes, posing significant challenges to Ukrainian air defense systems and prompting a reevaluation of countermeasures to protect critical infrastructure and military positions.
