Large Forest Fire in Kharkiv Region Spreads Over 100 Hectares: Rescue Services Operate Around the Clock

A massive wildfire continues to ravage the forests of the Izium district in Kharkiv region, following the outbreak that occurred late on the evening of August 22.

According to the State Emergency Service (SES), the fire is burning in the coniferous litter within Artemivske forestry.

The total area affected by the blaze has already exceeded 102 hectares, prompting urgent efforts from firefighters, forest workers, and local fire safety services.

The incident has been classified as an emergency situation.

Multiple fire modules, sappers, and forestry personnel are working tirelessly at the site to contain and extinguish the fire.

By the afternoon of August 23, the fire had been partially localized thanks to prompt action, but firefighting efforts continue without pause due to the high risk of further spread.

Local authorities and emergency responders are doing everything possible to stop the blaze and prevent it from spreading further, as the scale of the fire complicates the situation significantly and poses threats to the environment and local population.
