On the night of August 23, a significant incident occurred in the Rostov region, causing widespread logistical disruptions to railway operations.

According to reports from Russian authorities, an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles in the Serhiivka station area resulted in severe damage to the contact network, effectively paralyzing train movements in this region.

As a consequence, delays have been recorded on 38 trains, with passengers facing delays of up to 3 hours and 40 minutes—an unprecedented blow to both passenger and freight transportation.Official statements from Russian Railways confirm that the situation is under control, and repair work is underway to restore the railway service as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that four drones were shot down overnight in the same area, indicating active countermeasures against the drone attacks.

Despite military efforts, the consequences of the attack have already significantly impacted regional rail logistics and mobility, with potential long-term repercussions for transportation efficiency in this strategically important zone.
