Ukrainian Rowers Luzan and Fedoriv Conquer World Championship: Historic Victory and New Horizons

At this year’s World Rowing Championships held in the picturesque city of Milan, Ukrainian athletes made a remarkable splash by winning gold in the most prestigious discipline—the K-2 500 meters.
This achievement was not just another victory but a true triumph for Ukrainian rowing, reaffirming the high level of our athletes on the global stage.
Lyudmila Luzan and Iryna Fedoriv, who already demonstrated the best results in the semi-finals among all competitors, showcased exceptional skill and endurance.
Luzan, with two silver medals and one bronze from two Olympic Games in her career, secured her fifth world championship gold, cementing her status as one of the leading modern rowers.
For Fedoriv, this was her first victory at the world level and a vivid confirmation that diligent effort and faith in victory lead to outstanding results.
On Saturday, they will compete in the K-2 200 meters, with Luzan also vying for a medal in the solo canoe 500 meters.
This performance promotes Ukrainian rowing and demonstrates that our athletes are capable of competing with the world’s best teams.
The 2025 World Championship is organized in the vibrant and modern city of Milan, where Ukrainian athletes once again proved their strength and talent for great achievements in sports.
At the same time, the success of Ukrainian rowers evokes not only pride but also draws attention to issues related to supporting athletes on the international arena.
It is possible that in the future, some Ukrainian sports stars might switch to other countries, which could pose additional challenges in providing comprehensive support to our athletes.
Nevertheless, we are proud of their accomplishments and eagerly await future victories.
