In the early hours of August 22, Ukrainian forces reported a large-scale air attack conducted by Russia, involving over 50 kamikaze drones.

According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, the Russians launched simultaneously 55 drones of the Shahed type along with various imitation drones, attempting to strike Ukrainian targets in the northern and eastern regions of the country.

Ukrainian air defenses were highly active, successfully intercepting and neutralizing 46 out of the 55 attacking devices.

However, 9 combat drones managed to reach their targets, causing damage at four different sites.Sources reveal that these drones were launched from several Russian cities, including Shatalovo, Kursk, and Millerovo, as well as from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the temporarily occupied Crimea, with some coming from Gvardeysky.

Ukrainian military units actively countered the attack using anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare systems, unmanned platforms, and mobile fire groups that work to protect the country’s airspace.Overall, the data indicates a slight decrease in successful Russian attacks, but the threat persists, and the risk of damage to strategic targets remains high.

Ukrainian officials confirmed that defenders continue to improve and enhance their air defense systems to minimize destruction and protect civilian lives.
