Rescue Efforts Continue in Mukachevo Following Nighttime Russian Attack: Hundreds of Firefighters Combat Major Blaze

In the city of Mukachevo, located in the Zakarpattia region of Ukraine, emergency services are engaged in ongoing efforts to contain and extinguish a large-scale fire caused by a nighttime missile strike attributed to Russian forces.

As of the morning of August 22, efforts to eliminate the consequences of the incident, which occurred during the night of August 21, are still underway.

The attack resulted in at least 21 casualties, including children.

Firefighting teams, comprising 54 firefighters and 15 units of equipment, are actively working at the site.

Among the resources employed are trucks, specialized rescue vehicles, and the deployment of two fire trains from Ukrzaliznytsia to facilitate rapid access to hard-to-reach areas.

The situation remains tense, but firefighting efforts are gradually yielding tangible results.

Authorities continue to urge residents and visitors to stay in safe locations and follow official advisories to prevent further risks amid this ongoing conflict zone.
