In Kyiv, law enforcement authorities formally announced suspicion against a former acting general director of a state defense enterprise.

Investigations revealed that he unlawfully and deliberately awarded himself bonuses and supplements amounting to over 700,000 hryvnias, despite no legal grounds for such payments.

This misconduct constitutes abuse of official position aimed at personal gain, causing significant financial damage to the state budget.

According to prosecutors, the individual falsely issued himself payments over a year and a half, claiming these bonuses were for ‘significant contributions to the development of the enterprise’ and ‘conscientious performance of official duties.’ However, Ukrainian government regulations strictly specify which types of additional payments and bonuses are permissible for managers of state enterprises, and these unauthorized payouts fall outside those limits.

As a result of these actions, the state suffered a loss exceeding 700,000 hryvnias.

This case highlights ongoing issues of governance and financial integrity within public sector organizations.
