Israeli Forces Launch Major Operation in Gaza: Netanyahu Prepares for Full City Occupation Plan

Recently, the Israeli Defense Forces undertook a significant step in their military campaign against the Palestinian enclave—initiating ground operations in the Gaza Strip, an action that has rapidly escalated tensions and attracted worldwide attention.
Reports indicate that troops already control the outskirts of the city, with plans for a further large-scale deployment aimed at seizing strategic sites and potentially taking full control of this critical territory.
This plan was confirmed by Brigadier General Effi Defrin, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
He stated that approximately 60,000 draft notices are scheduled to be issued this week, with an additional 20,000 set for later this month.
The Israeli leadership’s goal is to ensure the safe evacuation of Gaza civilians and guarantee access to humanitarian and medical aid for those remaining.
Meanwhile, an incident occurred in Khan Yunis, where over 15 Hamas militants attempted to attack Israeli military positions.
The soldiers repelled the attack, resulting in three injuries among the troops; one soldier is in serious condition and hospitalized, while others sustained minor wounds.
Additionally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Kac plan to approve a detailed operation plan for the full conquest of Gaza on Thursday.
These decisions are being made amid active diplomatic efforts and mediation proposals from Egypt and Qatar, supporting Hamas.
One proposal involves a partial ceasefire exchange: the release of ten hostages in return for a 60-day truce.
Sources suggest that the plan presented by mediators closely resembles one Israel was considering weeks earlier, and decisions could be made swiftly.
Officially, Tel Aviv maintains a dual stance: while asserting that the ultimate goal is the release of all hostages and peace restoration, it does not exclude a partial deal.
Analysts believe that the commencement of a full-scale operation could serve as leverage for broader negotiations with Hamas and create more favorable conditions for subsequent actions.
Experts warn that a complete occupation of Gaza could have serious consequences but also might pave the way for a final resolution to the long-standing conflict, which has spilled over into the regional crisis.
