Zelensky Awards Prominent Ukrainians and SBU Operation on Independence Day
On Ukraine’s Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky officially presented the prestigious national award ‘National Legend of Ukraine’ to distinguished individuals and teams whose achievements and contributions elevate Ukraine’s image worldwide.
Among this year’s laureates are renowned singer Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, acclaimed athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh, prominent scientist and former Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Horbulin, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine team for their exceptional operation ‘Spider Web,’ which played a crucial role in uncovering and preventing major threats to national security.Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is a country of incredibly talented and capable people whose work, creativity, and heroic deeds shape its international reputation.
The awards symbolize the nation’s recognition, gratitude, and admiration for its heroes, geniuses, and creators whose efforts bring pride to Ukraine and inspire patriotism among its citizens.This year’s award recipients include singer and leader of «Okean Elzy» Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, Olympic gold medalist Yaroslava Maguchikh, and the legendary ballet master Serge Lifar, recognized posthumously for his lasting impact on world culture.
Additionally, artists, military personnel, and public figures received honors.Zelensky highlighted that presenting these awards is not only a celebration of individual achievements but also a heartfelt acknowledgment by Ukraine of its most talented and heroic citizens, who through their work and dedication help strengthen the country’s independence and national identity.
