Ukrzaliznytsia Refreshes Train Schedule: New Routes and Additional Services for Autumn

The Ukrainian state railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, has announced an extensive update to its train schedules and routes, aiming to better serve passengers and accommodate increasing travel demand.
This mid-year adjustment includes the introduction of several new and additional train services scheduled for late 2024, covering various destinations across Ukraine.
According to official statements, in August, extra trains will operate on routes connecting Kyiv with Lviv and Dnipro, providing passengers with more options and alleviating overcrowding on key lines.
Beyond this, the company plans to launch new routes to popular vacation spots such as Truskavets, along with expanding services in western Ukraine.
One notable innovation is the implementation of a new “e-Order” service, which enables travelers to track available empty carriages and purchase tickets seamlessly online.
This effort aims to enhance transparency and convenience, reducing frustrations associated with sold-out tickets on busy days.
An important addition is the extra train № 284/283 Uzhgorod — Kyiv, which will run every other day from September 1, 2024, until the new timetable takes effect in 2026.
This schedule is particularly beneficial for travelers heading to and from Carpathian resorts or returning home.
This train also functions as a backup for high-speed trains from Kharkiv and Dnipro, providing more flexibility when tickets are unavailable on popular routes.
Moreover, passengers will have the opportunity to book tickets even if initial reservations are sold out, thanks to post-cancellation reavailability for subsidized and military travelers.
Overall, these updates highlight Ukrzaliznytsia’s commitment to modernizing Ukrainian railway services, making them more accessible, efficient, and aligned with the needs of 21st-century travelers.
