Ukrposhta’s Branch Closure in Kostiantynivka: Temporary Absence or Need for New Strategies?

Ukrposhta has announced the closure of its branch in the city of Kostiantynivka, located in Donetsk region, citing safety concerns for both employees and customers.

According to CEO Ihor Smailianskyi, this decision is driven by ongoing destructive shelling and threats to life in the area.

Despite the challenging situation, nearby districts such as Druzkovka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, and Dobropillia continue to host their own Ukrposhta branches, providing essential services to local residents.

The company’s leadership remains hopeful that offices in Kostiantynivka will reopen soon.

Experts note increasing tensions in the region: former commander of the Azov Battalion 12th Brigade, Bogdan ’Tavr’ Krotevych, states that the situation on the front lines is worsening, with cities like Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, and Kostiantynivka being semi-encircled by enemy forces.

On August 20, three civilians were killed and four wounded in Kostiantynivka as a result of missile strikes.

Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Vadym Fisahlin reports that Russian forces launched eight missiles from the ‘Smerch’ missile systems, deliberately targeting the local market, causing significant destruction and loss of life.

Witnesses describe that the attack was targeted and intentional, with the impact visible in the form of smoke and debris.

The ongoing war forces a reevaluation of operational strategies, leaving open the question: will Ukrposhta manage to return and restore its branches in Kostiantynivka, a strategically important region with a tense security situation?
