Trump Suggests Zelensky and Putin Should Meet Alone to Resolve Ukraine-Russia Conflict

In recent statements, former U.S.

president Donald Trump proposed that the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, should hold a direct bilateral meeting without American involvement.

He emphasized that such a dialogue could be more productive if the two nations’ leaders attempted to resolve their differences independently.

Trump pointed out that he has already had successful discussions with both leaders and believes they should take the initiative to negotiate on their own.

“I think it would be better if they met without me, just to see what happens next.

Their relations have been very strained, and they need to figure things out themselves,” he said.

Trump also expressed his readiness to personally assist in future negotiations if necessary, stating, “If needed — and it probably will be — I will go and help facilitate an agreement.

But first, I want to see what unfolds during their meeting.” The process of organizing this direct meeting between Zelensky and Putin is reportedly underway, though no specific dates have been announced.

The former president underlined that he is waiting to observe the results and may intervene later if required.
