Special Forces Operation: Strike on Russian Lieutenant General Resulting in Limb Amputation During Ukrainian Assault
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) command released a video capturing a precise and targeted attack on a high-ranking Russian military official.
The footage shows Ukrainian operatives launching a calculated strike on the vehicle of Lieutenant General and deputy commander of the ‘Sever’ troop grouping, Esedulla Abachev, on the night of August 17.
The operation took place five kilometers from the city of Rylsk in Kursk region, where Ukrainian SOF units managed to penetrate deep into enemy-held territory to execute the attack.Following the strike, Abachev sustained severe injuries, leading to the amputation of his arm and leg in a bid to save his life.
The wounded general was evacuated via aircraft to Moscow, where he received urgent medical treatment.
The Ukrainian SOF’s official website acknowledged the operation, emphasizing its importance within ongoing efforts to undermine and weaken Russian military leadership in Ukraine.It is noteworthy that, as early as 2023, Ukrainian prosecutors had formally charged Abachev with crimes against humanity.
He had been leading the so-called ‘2nd Army Corps of the LPR People’s Militia’ since 2022 and was directly responsible for ordering shelling and destruction of residential areas in eastern Ukraine’s Luhansk region.
Earlier reports from Ukrainian intelligence confirmed that Abachev had received serious injuries, which were later publicly acknowledged by Russian officials, including Dagestan’s head, Sergei Melnikov, who stated that the general sustained a ‘serious wound,’ though details remain undisclosed.
