Hungary has officially confirmed the resumption of oil supplies through the strategic Druzhba pipeline, connecting Russia with Central Europe.

This followed significant damages caused by recent Ukrainian attacks, which temporarily halted the pipeline’s operation.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto expressed sincere gratitude to Russian colleagues for their prompt response and swift restoration of the pipeline’s functionality, emphasizing its critical importance for the country’s energy security.

He also stated that Hungary expects Ukraine to cease attacks on the facility, deeming it vital for oil and gas supplies.

Szijjarto reiterated, ‘This is not our war; do not drag us into it.’ Meanwhile, Ukraine confirmed a recent strike on the pipeline, targeting a major station in the Tambov region with missile attacks.

Despite this incident, the European Union assured that it would not significantly impact energy supplies to member states.
