Police Launch Investigation into Allegations of Domestic Violence and Abuse Against Actor Temlyak

Law enforcement authorities in Ukraine have initiated an investigation concerning allegations against actor Kostyantyn Temlyak, known for his work at the Drama Theater on Podil, who faces accusations of domestic violence and other related misconduct.
The Kyiv National Police confirmed the opening of a criminal case under Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses criminal liability for domestic violence.
Responding to inquiries by LB.ua, Dmytro Petrovskyi, acting head of the criminal investigations unit, disclosed that pre-trial proceedings are ongoing and include checks into possible other wrongful acts committed by the actor.
The allegations surfaced after Ukrainian photographer Anastasia Solovyova shared her long-suppressed experience of abuse, which she refrained from revealing for years due to fear, shame, and lack of evidence.
She also published a conversation involving Temlyak, in which he supposedly pressured her into sexual acts with a 15-year-old girl and sent provocative photos.
The publication stirred public outrage; subsequently, Temlyak issued a video apology.
His wife, Anastasia Nesterenco, asserted that she had never experienced violence from him.
The scandal underscores the importance of addressing domestic abuse transparently and ensuring justice for victims in modern Ukrainian society.
