Mykola Tochytskyi Returns to Diplomatic Scene: Appointed as Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Council of Europe

After a hiatus in his diplomatic career, former Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, has been appointed once again to a prominent diplomatic position — as the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe.
This decision was officially confirmed by a presidential decree, which was published on the official website of the Head of State.
This move signifies a continuation of Tochytskyi’s active diplomatic efforts, considering his previous tenure in this role from 2010 to 2016.Details surrounding this significant career development have attracted interest from the general public and political analysts alike.
Between 2016 and 2021, he served as Ukraine’s ambassador to Belgium and also acted as the country’s representative to the European Union.
From September 2021 to April 2024, Tochytskyi was working as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, playing a vital role in the country’s foreign diplomacy.Earlier, from April to September 2024, he held the position of Deputy Head of the President’s Office.
Just prior to this, he served as the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications in Ukraine’s government led by Denys Shmyhal for less than a year.
