Breakthrough in Nuclear Arsenal: China Expected to Possess Over 1000 Warheads by 2030, Marking a New Era in Strategic Competition
According to intelligence sources and defense experts, the United States forecasts that by 2030, China could significantly enhance its nuclear capabilities, increasing its stockpile to over a thousand warheads.
This rapid expansion of nuclear forces is becoming a major factor in global strategic stability and deterrence policies.
China has intensified its efforts to modernize and expand its nuclear arsenal, including the construction of hundreds of new missile silos and mobile launch bases.
Unofficial estimates indicate that China currently holds around 600 nuclear warheads, with potential plans to increase this number further in the coming years.
While officially adhering to a no-first-use policy, the Pentagon’s annual reports suggest that Beijing’s strategic stance might include the possibility of launching nuclear weapons in response to conventional attacks that threaten its nuclear forces or command and control systems.
Additionally, China’s military infrastructure reportedly includes nearly 700 ground-based missile launchers, with over 460 capable of launching nuclear-tipped missiles capable of reaching the mainland United States.
Although many of these systems are intended for regional defense, their growing number signals China’s ambitions to become a major nuclear power by the next decade.
